OlyCats Handball U18s set up a National Final match-up with NEM Hawks after a semi-final win over Warrington Wolves.

Head Coach Bobby White, had this to say on the achievement.

“We lost 22-16 against NEM in a hard fought Super 4’s opener, however our game plan was to play with less intensity than usual to conserve some energy for the semi final vs Warrington Wolves in the afternoon.

The plan worked perfectly as we shot into an 8-1 lead. A few sloppy decisions then cost us as we were caught on the counter a couple of times and the Wolves fought their way back into the game. We pushed on again, stretching the lead to +4 which was enough to see us through the last couple of minutes to hang on for a 23-21 win.

“I’m delighted with the result. The boys executed the plan and their efforts have been rewarded with a place in the final, one step closer than we got last season.”
